Molecular Identification, GC-MS Analysis of Bioactive Compounds and Antimicrobial Activity of Thermophilic Bacteria Derived from West Sumatra Hot-Spring Indonesia

Thermophilic bacteria are a source of bioactive compounds that have many benefits for human life. One them is as antimicrobials. This research aimed to identify and characterize the promising thermophilic bacterial isolates by analyzing their potential antimicrobial agents. with code LBKURCC were taken from collection Biochemistry Laboratory University Riau. Forty-four purified strains tested ability. These hot springs located in Sumatra provinces West Strain LBKURCC218 isolated Rimbo Panti was chosen further investigate antimicrobials production. Isolates spring produced highest identified comparing similarity 16S rRNA gene sequences. BLAST result phylogenetic tree showed selected strain similar Bacillus paramicoides index 99.93%. Analysis ethyl acetate extract liquid cultures B. paramycoides best producer compared other isolates. The most Dodecanoic acid, representing 23.62% total compounds, followed 11-Dodecanoic acid at 17.84%. Ethyl has high inhibition zone against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Candida albicans.
